When gluing the fretboard to the guitar neck, (that might have a slight bow), the clamping force of the straight, rigid aluminum tube to both the wooden neck and fretboard helps straighten any slight curvature (bowing) of the neck as the glue dries. Of course there are many uses for aluminum tubing. You may need this piece for something totally different. Both ends of the tube have been deburred.
