Description: This listing is for a vintage 14-1/2" Santa Claus figure. The hand carved and hand painted piece is in very good condition. The artist Karen Rankin signed the piece, and it is bottom marked Wolf Creek, Eldora Iowa. This square Santa is a solid piece at 2 pounds 5 ounces. The Wolf Creek holiday line captures the essence of the holidays of yester year. Wolf Creek Woodworking was a family-owned toy factory that manufactured wooden toys and other primitive wooden art objects in the late 1970s through the mid to late 1990's. The factories were located in Beaman and Eldora, Iowa. The Wolf Creek Woodworking company was noted for employing mostly retired area natives known as the "Elderly Elves". These Grandpas and Grandmas hand built a variety of solid wood, primitive and folk-art objects. The "Elderly Elves" worked diligently to provide wood-crafted folk-art objects and primitive wooden pieces that could be used and cherished for generations. Most of the pieces are signed by the artist who crafted and painted each individual piece. We have a small amount of the remaining inventory, and many came from the personal collections of the original owners.______________________________ Please view the pictures / scans.
