1983 Harlem Globetrotters World Tour Program

Description: Did the Saturday Evening Post print this?? The cover is eerily identical but there is nothing in this program stating this. It's pretty awesome regardless. Back when everyone knew who the Harlem Globetrotters were and frequently went to watch them thrash the Washington Generals and could find on TV when most people only had 4 channels. Started all the way back in 1926 and gained a lot of attention when in 1948 they beat the all-white player NBA team, the Minnesota Lakers. All NBA teams were rostered with all white players, but it wasn't long after, in 1950, that the NBA broke that barrier and drafted the first black player, from what team.... The Harlem Globetrotters! Where did Wilt Chamberlain go after Kansas...The Harlem Globetrotters! What American basketball team was invited to communist Russia in 1959...need I say it...the Harlem Globetrotters! They were fun to watch and had some wonderful showmanship. Someone needs to make a movie about these guys! This is from the Globetrotters 1983 world tour with some of the most notable Globetrotters, three of the Globetrotter's 8 retired numbers are on this team: Fred "Curly" NealHubert "Geese" Ausbie"Sweet" Lou Dunbar Condition is very good for a program of this age. Most get curled, creased and folded within 24 hours after purchased. This only has a few spine ticks, and the lower right corner has a light creased and pages are bent upwards a little. The back shows a little more wear and has a more obvious crease BUT overall, it's a well preserved program and the blemishes are minor. Approx. 8" x 11" with 35+ glossy colorful pictures, history and a few fun vintage 80's ads.
