This type was issued between 1969 and 1978. This one is dated 1974. This was during the Presidency of Anwar Sadat. He served as the third president of Egypt from 1970 until his assassination in October of 1981. Sadat was a key figure in the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, which overthrew King Farouk. He initiated serious peace negotiations with Israel, leading to the signing of a peace treaty in 1978.
