Description: The neck plate serial number dates to 1960 but the date codes on the CTS 1 meg pots are from 1959. The numbers appear at the bottom of the plate instead of the typical top location. There is no neck date. This was common among guitars released during this era. I have seen neck dates on January and February 1959 guitars. It has been refinished in a nice Olympic White. The refinish was determined by the original Fender nail holes filled with paint. Possibly sprayed over Dakota Red as seen through the areas of chipping. Candy Apple Red is also a possibility. The rest of the instrument is completely original. This includes: frets, tuners, nut, factory wiring and soldering, pots, switches, toggle switch, input jack, pickguard, knobs, tone capacitor, bridge, bridge cover, tremolo arm, and pickups. The pickguard has shrunk resulting in a crack near the bridge pickup. The slab Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is in great shape. Introduced in 1958 by Fender, the Jazzmaster was boasted as a fierce competitor to the Stratocaster.
