Description: 1943 D/D LINCOLN WHEAT PENNY VF condition, Multiple mint mark steel cent. Redbook lists a "boldly doubled" mintmark, VF, at $50. What they mean by "boldly" is that it is visible to the naked eye. A similar coin in perfect condition sold for $14,000. I believe the corroded spot above the date is a misplaced "S". Several other "D" repunches are visible, to the right of the primary proper "D". There are additional multiple faint D's and Ss. I call this "very fine" condition due to the cheekbone/jawbone separation and the unworn wheat heads. (I am not a professional coin grader.) This coin could be very special.
