Each can produce as much coolness per day as would be provided by melting 100 tons of ice. Built at Westinghouse plant here, units are being checked out for shipment to U.S. shall factory in Gadston, Alabama, and Douglas Aircraft plant in Long Beach, California. Enemy bombers would find it nearly impossible to put the new air conditioning systems out of commission. A total of 47 compressors will be located throughout the factories, each unit cooling a small area. If one compressor is damaged, others will continue to function. Summer heat in windowless plants may rise to 110 degrees, according to W.O. Lippmann, Westinghouse Works manager. Air conditioning will drop the temperature by 25 degrees. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1941. PHOTO FRONT PHOTO BACK Historic Images Part Number: nei60999 Sell Smarter with Kyozou.Inventory and Ecommerce Management
