Description: 1938 (to 40) Smith Corona Sterling typewriter 2A series. I purchased this beautiful typewriter in 2000 from an antique shop in the town listed on the side of the service decal. It has always seemed like it was hardly used, and is still in the same fully-working order. I mainly used it to demonstrate the type a few times. It has been on display the majority of that time, and I haven't changed anything on it. The finish is still nice but has a few specks of something that I did not try to scratch off (see pics). The tiny specs are also partly on the roller. There is also just a faint color loss on some of the Sterling lettering. Some of the rear lettering is rubbed. The black finish could probably be restored to its mirror-like shine. It shone like a new car when I bought it in 2000. Awesome Art Deco label on the side. The case is fully working but has lost a bit of the handle material and has some scuffs, etc. both latches are good as well as the locking mechanism inside. Please see photos for best descriptions, and feel free to ask any questions. The typewriter has been loved, and will be carefully packed. It also ships right away.
