I'm told that this was well maintained and carefully used by a friend's grandmother for most of her adult life and was one of her prized possessions. It was handed down to her daughter with strict instructions about usage and upkeep. My friends mother is now 81 and hasn't used it in a couple of years, and her daughters have no interest in sewing.
