Description: https://www.beldenstratford.com/history Here is a remarkably well preserved covered dish from the luxurious Belden Hotel founded 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. The dish was made in Bavaria, Germany by Brauscher China, commissioned through Arthur Schiller & Son, Chicago. The dish itself is clearly marked with the year 1930. The design is slate blue laurels, ribbons, and swords with dotted black swags and white swans set into yellow cartouches. It looks great. There are only the following caveats: There is a minor amount of crazing at the bottom inside and on the bottom outside. There is one small chip on the lid, underneath, where it does not show. The non-glazed portion of the lid, that is, the rim that no one sees from the outside, has yellowed. This could be corrected, but I don’t want to disturb the little cushions someone put on the rim of the lid to keep one part from damaging the other. All these points are shown in the pictures. Dimensions are as follows: Diameter, 8 inches Height including lid, 4.25 inches; Weight, 2.5 pounds Liquid capacity, 1 quart This will be packed and shipped with great care. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
