Description: This is a 4" tall and 6" across double-handled squat art pottery vase or pot, by Carl Gebauer of Germany. Featuring a late art nouveau into arts and crafts period design of a central flower motif, and with unique twisting handles, it is a great example of Secessionist art. Most likely made between 1919-1929, it was produced in the Carl Gebauer Kunsttopferei und Majolikafabrik in Burgel, Thuringen - a small town near Leipzig. Underneath it is marked "860" and "Germany". In terms of the condition of this vintage or antique piece, overall it is in wonderful shape. There is some crazing. I see a tiny mark at the lip that may be a manufacturing defect or a tiny fleabite. I see a couple other production-era misses in the smooth brown color. At the bottom rim I see various dents that I do not believe to be chips, but again, signs from the time of production. There are some marks inside indicating water use at some point. Please see all pictures for condition and details. Enjoy!
