The date of marriage is written as 1847 , the book is dated 1850. Written in German, published in Philadelphia, PA. Childrens names listed: Anlice Bentz born 1847 Susanna Bentz, 1849 Fyanna Bentz, 1851 Franklin Bentz, 1853 Henry Bentz, 1855 Amanda Bentz, 1860 Elias Bentz born 1821, Amanda Bentz born 1825. There is one full page engraving in front of old testament and one in front of new testament. Bible measures approx. 6 x 9 x 3". There are hooks on front cover that are from clasps that are no longer attached to bible. Cover is leather, is worn with scratches, rubbing off, wear around edges, discoloration and some soiliing. Spine leather is crackling. Pages are discolored, edges worn, foxing and some soiling. There are a few pages in front end that have detached and a couple in center of book. Some edges are worn, a little broken or fragile. Some corners bent or turned down. The back of books pages look to have been chewed by insects or broken off on top corner.
